You can only get them at the start, and you have to loot the body of your dad's scientist friend to get them. To my knowledge and I've played Fallout 3 rather extensively, it's the only way to get glasses easily.
No major characters wear glasses, and you can't buy them anywhere. This might be for good reason, too. Not only do the glasses actually look good on your character, they give you a slight boost to your intelligence stat.
Also, doesn't the museum in Rivet City wear a pair of glasses? Zimmer also wears a pair. So does the Caravan Doctor merchant. It's funny because in the same room as the torturer's hood you can get a mage's hood as well. Then I ran into two Alik'r warriors with their special hoods outside of Whiterun, and now I've got a nice little collection going.
It fits better with leather armor than the cloth Mage and Alik'r warrior hoods. To my knowledge the only other leather hood in the game is the Thieves Guild one. Just for the record, Z-fighting isn't fixed, just reduced. It'll never be fully fixed, at least not in Frankenbryo.

I've read that the audio quality has been downgraded and some were saying it's actually pretty terrible compared to the original audio but that's really all I've heard. If you have original skyrim and all dlc on pc, you get it free.
If you're in console, in my opinion, it's worth it for mods and being able to play it on current gen. I had no idea. I don't own any of the dlc's. I wonder if it would be cheaper to buy them and get the deluxe that way.
I picked up the last 2 DLCs like a month or two ago for pretty cheap. You'd defo have to do some research there. Most likely will be cheaper, I'd go that route. Most people have no idea what 64 bit even signifies which can be seen just by reading replies to your comment. The hidden improvement was improved stability, improved framerate, and more NPCs fighting at the same time. Those weren't hidden at all.

You don't magically get more NPC's fighting at the same time by having bit. Perhaps indirectly, but definitely not directly. Same for the rest really. Indirectly it certainly is. The way larger chunk of addressable memory is this application is intended to produce those affects.
This is just a bandaid over Bethesda's shitty programming. I think you're both right. What he's saying is that Bethesda's engine and coding created stability issues because of poor optimization. Having more addressable memory definitely does increase stability.

Just a heads up. It was on a mountain. The massive z-fighting I've seen in the past is gone finally so far. I hope to crap they didn't "fix" it by just making sure things are never on the same z coord. Alternatively, if you really want hz or whatever, there's a ini edit that can adjust the physics rate, iFPSClamp, but it's known to be very buggy in and of itself and really shouldn't be used.
I remember when Rain occlusion was fixed in Morrowind, by dedicated people hacking up the executable itself. Thank god for the Rain Occlusion and water flow change, two very small details or lack of that have bugged the hell out of me since Skyrim was released.
In a few months when all the major mods have fully updated to work well with the SE, this is gonna be a hell of an immersive game. I was looking for it on the special edition nexus. Install manually I'm guessing? Some of them still work, yes. You'll get an "SKSE not detected" error message with that version, but it'll still give you a usable inventory screen and whatnot.

The default UI is totally playable. You can say you don't like it, but to say it's unplayable is absurd. An unusual choice, but intentional. That's what he is arguing though. Menus that are meant to be used with the WASD keys are a sign of the UI being ported over from consoles and pretty much left unchanged.

That's why mods exist, so we can deviate from the design the developers intended. The UI might be bad, but it is not something like a gamebreaking bug or glitch; it's not something that they are required to fix, as it is their design decision, after all.
It would be easy to have a "classic UI" option for the people that like the original. More work than not changing anything, but worth it for a special edition that's supposed to give a better play experience. As a game developer, let me assure you it would be non trivial to have two different UI systems that swap back and forth.
You can't just swap back and forth with SkyUI. You have to directly edit the game files every time you want to change. Yes that works for a modding standpoint but that's a horrible end user experience when you're trying to sell an official product.
To do it officially they would have to find someway to do all the swapping while the game is running and such which is probably a huge pain in the ass and while possible likely not worth their time.
Most people don't have that big of an issue with the default UI. They're certainly not souping it up to give it out for free, they're just saying "Console players can now experience the beauty of PC Skyrim! How would you know?
It's a terrible UI, I'm not sure why people would bitch about a change unless Bethesda would make it somehow even worse which would be quiet an achievement. Game developers shouldn't get so easy off with bad decisions just because the game is easy to mod and someone else can fix it for them.
It's a design issue, not something that needs to be patched. Mods are practically made for people who disagree with how the game was designed. This is exactly what mods are for, to change the game's qualities to better fit an individual.

I've never heard the key "iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes" exists! I'll try playing with that. Can I ask you some questions about the ini tweaks you mentioned? What does the key "iShadowMode" configures?
Googling it gives some possible value looks like 3, 4 or 5 , however I can't find any further info for it Seems they specify resolution of different kind of shadow, but there is no page explaining the difference in my scope.

Tried using the shadow sharpening settings and the main thing I noticed when I move I see an annoying line where the blurred and sharp shadows meet, and if I increase the shadow sharpness, or decrease the blurring I guess, I get odd shadows everywhere.
Ah well, your other tips work perfect so I'll survive, hehe. Had to move these two tweaks to Skyrim. It's one of those tweaks where you have to really look for it to notice that it's working, 'cause otherwise it doesn't attract attention.

The default value is 75k! Values of for stack frames are crazy, and there is a clear warning that values much higher than the default 75k can cause serious problems. Yes i did, a long time ago, along with millions threads about this subject over the official boards.
For example running an higher iMaxMemory value, when running also an higher uGrid value, totally removes the crashes when moving between cells. Above, you can see the opening sequence, and how a random horse winds up getting in the way of the actors who are busy trying to execute me. The horse became such a problem that the sequence stalled before the dragon could show up, so we all just stood around staring and waiting.
After several minutes it was clear Mr. Ed wasn't going to be moved, so I had to restart. It hasn't changed much after all. The images below were taken using the same saved game, first taking a screenshot in the original Skyrim, saving the game there, then transferring the save file to Skyrim Special Edition and loading it.
So, what you're seeing is me standing in the same spot at the same time of day with the same weather conditions in both games. The image from classic Skyrim is on the left, and Special Edition is on the right.
A handy slider lets you compare them. This was taken near Riften, and you can see the colors in Special Edition are much richer. The sky is more blue and the yellow of the leaves is brighter. The water looks less greasy and oily as well.
Here's a glance toward Solitude, and in addition to slightly lusher plants and considerably bluer skies, you can see some additional details on the buildings, particularly the windmill in the top left corner. The lighting looks much better as well: Here's the waterfall near Dragonbridge.
Again, the skies are a much deeper blue, trees in the far distance look a trifle less cartoony, and the lighting of the landscape in the background gives more feeling of depth than the original. Again, improved lighting makes the details of landscape in the distance, as well as the horse and cart, much easier to see.

I've been messing around with the Skyrim Special Edition this evening, precipitation occlusion, snow shader, lens flare, and bit render targets. In the main options in the advanced/details tab it says bit Render Targets does anyone know what this means and does? I compared the histograms in photoshop and can see there seems to be more pixel information with 64 bit render targets In vanilla skyrim was an ini setting.
